Here is the story of Lil Miss.
Diane was born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas and is the second oldest of seven children. Her parents didnt have a lot of money, but what they did have was a lot of love to show and give to all of their children. Diane would tell you that they were poor, but that they were very rich! They were so poor, they had an outhouse and had to get water from a spigot up by the road! And yes, grandma really did run moonshine!
Although she grew up believing in God, she didnt have a relationship with Him. It wasn't until she was 21, married and pregnant with her first daughter that she gave her heart to Jesus. Her oldest, Christie, was born and a little more than a year later, her second daughter, Jennifer came along. Christie and Jennifer are her pride and joy! You can hear it in her voice every time she talks about the girls!
Jesus is her first love, however. She became a Christian during her first pregnancy because she realized the importance of having a family knowing Jesus. By example and family teaching, both girls learned early to have a relationship with Jesus.
Back to her growing up years...with nine mouths to feed at home, her Momma needed help to fix the meals. And that is where Diane learned to cook at an early age. And get this...she learned to cook on an old pot bellied wood stove! Yep, the real thing! To Diane, a cast iron skillet is the only way to cook!
She will encourage you with Spiritual wisdom, keep you laughing at her keen wit and make you hungry with her yummy recipes! Thanks for listening to Lil Miss on The Country Parson!
